Poverty...

There are 36.5 Americans in poverty. Most of these Americans living in poverty work, but still can’t make ends meet. Most of these Americans are single mothers that are raising children. Sen. Obama says, “He will invest $1 billion over five years in transitional jobs and career pathway programs that implement proven methods of helping low-income Americans succeed in the workforce.” Sen. Obama has been trying to fight poverty since he finished college. He was the one that turned down high corporate jobs to help the poor communities get what they needed. If you go and look at John McCain’s website, poverty isn’t mentioned because it’s not an issue to him or his candidacy party. This show how the Republican Party is looking out only for the wealthy people in America. Why help that small group of citizens that are financially stable for the rest of their lives; instead of helping the ones that’s in more need. Barack wants to embellish poor neighborhoods by adding 20 Promise Neighborhoods in areas that have high levels of poverty and crime and low levels of student academic achievement in cities across the nation. He also has been a tireless advocate of promoting responsible fatherhood. He wants to sign in a Responsible Fatherhood and Healthy Families Act law, to remove some of the government penalties on married families, crack down on men avoiding child support payments, and ensure that payments go to families instead of state bureaucracies. Sen. Obama has proven himself in taking steps to solve poverty; while his competitor makes his money off the American people in poverty.
This is the official website of Barack Obama. You can find out his plans on solving the issues for the 2008 election.
